The International Catholic Union of the Press (UCIP) brings together journalists, publishers and professors of communication who work in all types of the media. Members below 35 years of age constitute the International Network of Young Journalists. UCIP is the true and real world forum of all professionals in the secular and religious media in all parts of the world. Thousands of media professionals have joined UCIP in search of value-oriented journalism, professional co-operation on world levels, and to discover our global village. All UCIP activities are conceived taking into consideration the professional needs of its members all over the world. UCIP helps its members to meet face to face irrespective of all difference. Its members believe that face to face contact is very important for all professional co-operation in a our modern world where virtual tends to dominate. |

UCIP has eight federations and eight regions. Federations are professional bodies. Regions are geographical associations. Federations: Journalists, Dailies, Periodicals, Teachers and Researchers, News Agencies, Church Press, Book Publishers and Photo Journalists. Regions: Africa, Latin America, North America, East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Europe and Middle East. Members below 35 years form the International Network of Young Journalists. UCIP has the status of "working relationship" with UNESCO and consultative status at ECOSOC. Commissions: International Life Commission advises UCIP on international issues and prepares UCIP documents. Finance Commission is presided over by the treasurer. Membership: All Catholic journalists, publishers, teachers of communication, publications, publishing houses, institutes of journalism, news agencies and their associations can become members of the International Catholic Union of the Press.
